As a conversion there were numerous challenges to overcome with the weight distribution being the most significant and challenging for my team. All new steel RSJ and box beams were added throughout the building, this had to be done in stages to ensure the load was not all transferred at any one point. Once this was done all internal walls could be removed and new 9inch block walls built in line with the new design and new supports. Two traditional extensions were added to the existing building to maximise use of space.
Set back from the office to the rear we demolished an old car garage and built a unique 3 bedroom bungalow in the grounds.
All 8 Flats and 1 house sold straight away despite a challenging housing market.
